The Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) Scholarship is a life-changing scheme for students belonging to the Other Backward Classes (OBC) category. This scholarship assists the families of economically weaker sections for those pursuing professional courses like engineering, MBBS, MBA, or Master’s in Geophysics or geology. Under the ONGC Scholarship Scheme, 500 students will receive an annual scholarship of INR 48,000. The purpose of this financial aid is to encourage the students to seek and complete the respective course without any financial burden. 50% of scholarships are ‘F’ designations for women to sidestep gender discrimination.

The candidates’ marks in the qualifying exam will determine the selection process. If marks are the same, students with lower Below Poverty Line (BPL) will be given preference.
Each chosen student shall receive a monetary INR 4,000 award monthly, making a total of INR 48,000 per annum. Payments are made directly into the bank accounts using the ECS system upon the completion of an academic year.
