This revised schedule ensures the even distribution of scholarships. Students who rely on scholarships to pay for their education cannot bear the financial effects of delays. Schools and authorities must stick to the timeline so that deserving students obtain their scholarships without hindrance.

The revised timetable as of 06-12-2023, issued by the Government, UP Scholarship for Class 9th-10th indicated that the deadline for submission of an online application from the student’s end was 02-01-2024. However, some students were not able to complete the online submission before this day. The Director of the Backward Classes Welfare Department has requested in his letter dated February 1, 2024, to extend this date.

Detailed Procedures and Responsibilities

Applying for students online

From the 8 to the 14 January 2024, students must apply online. It is crucial as it would ensure that all eligible students apply to qualify for bursaries or scholarships. Do not delay the process by giving wrong information.

Submission of hard copies

After applying online, one must submit completed application forms and required documents on or before 18 January 2024. Schools will use these to verify the online information.

Verification by schools

By 19 January 2024, schools must reconcile student details from online forms with hard copies and attached documents. These institutions will remove ineligible candidates from their systems and then check the eligibility of others before forwarding their applications.

Physical Confirmation

From November 21, 2023, to January 31, 2024, a team of Assistant Commissioners (Revenue), Deputy Directors Education, and Deputy Directors Development/ Welfare will physically verify the schools. It enhances student’s presence in classes.

Verification by District School Inspector

By February 2024, the District School Inspector should verify the class numbers and by February 20, 2024, confirm the number of students in public schools’ registers.

NIC scrutiny

The NIC will review data from PFMS Software between January 20 and February 4, 2024.

Correction Of Erroneous Applications

Between February 5 and February 10, students can revise their mistakes online. Students can check their name/date of birth and other information for entries into the system after updating all information correctly.

Submission of Corrected Applications

The corrected application forms with attested copies of required documents shall be submitted by students through schools within the deadline date up to Feb 13, 2024, accordingly.

Confirmation messages from organizations

During Feb.6-Feb.14,2024, institutes will recheck applications sent again to them for verification.

NIC re-scrutiny

The NIC will rework corrected data from February 15 to 21, 2024 at different points in the state unit of NIC.

Data Locking by District Committees

The District Scholarship Approval Committee will use the digital signatures of departmental officers at the district level to lock down all qualifying student data between February 5, 2024, and March 4, 2024. The District Scholarship Approval Committee will look into suspicious data and only valid ones.

Demand Generation by State Unit of NIC

By March 8, 2024, the state unit of NIC will create a demand based on locked data.

Fund Transfer

PFMS will distribute funds to students before March 15, 2024.

Share Data with the Government of India

This information must be submitted to the Government of India for payment purposes by March 20, 2024, so they can pay sixty percent of the central share per fee schedule for caste students.
